Global Experts Gather at Waseda University to Explore the Future of AI-Empowered Education

TOKYO, Japan – June 27, 2026 — The 3rd International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Future Education (AIFE 2026) was successfully held in Tokyo, Japan.

Hosted by Waseda University and co-organized by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), the conference brought together over 80 experts, researchers, and scholars in a hybrid online/offline format. Participants represented institutions across Japan, China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Norway, as well as the Hong Kong SAR and Macao SAR regions, to discuss innovative paths for AI-driven transformation in education.

Grand Opening and Keynote Addresses

The conference commenced in the morning with an opening ceremony chaired by Tengfei Shao. Prof. Masayuki Goto from Waseda University delivered the opening remarks, warmly welcoming attendees and emphasizing the transformative potential and emerging trends of artificial intelligence in modern education.

Parallel Sessions and Global Academic Exchange

In the afternoon, the conference held parallel online and offline sessions to foster deeper cross-disciplinary dialogue:

• In-Person Venue: Featured invited talks by scholars from Henan University of Economics and Law, Johns Hopkins University / Nova Southeastern University, and the King George Vancouver School Board, alongside oral presentations from attending researchers.
• Online Venue: Gathered 16 scholars who presented compelling reports on diverse topics within AI and future education, stimulating active Q&A sessions.

Recognition and Looking Ahead

At the conclusion of the event, the organizing committee selected three scholars to receive the Excellent Oral Presentation Award in recognition of their outstanding research quality and presentations.
