About GMMT 2026 | University of Cambridge
The 2nd International Conference on Green Materials and Manufacturing Technology (GMMT 2026) will take place from 9 to 11 October 2026 at Gonville & Caius College, University of Cambridge. This follows the successful inaugural conference held in June 2025 at Churchill College, University of Cambridge. The conference aims to bring together leading researchers, established scientists, early-career researchers, industry experts and policymakers to discuss the latest developments in sustainable materials and innovative manufacturing techniques.
GMMT 2026 will provide a platform for the exchange of knowledge and ideas focused on the development and application of green materials that significantly reduce environmental impact. The conference will cover a wide range of topics, including, but not limited to, renewable materials, eco-friendly production processes, waste-minimisation strategies and lifecycle assessment of products.
We invite researchers, practitioners and stakeholders to submit their original contributions and join us in shaping the future of green materials and manufacturing technologies at GMMT 2026. Your participation will be instrumental in driving innovation and fostering a sustainable future for our planet.

Prof. Sir Harry Bhadeshia, FRS, FREng, FIMMM Queen Mary University of London, UK |
Harry Bhadeshia is Professor of Metallurgy at Queen Mary University of London, Emeritus Tata Steel Professor of Metallurgy at the University of Cambridge, and a Trustee of the American University of Central Asia. His work is on the theory of solid-state phase transformations in steels, with the focus on complex design involving the simultaneous optimisation of a bank of controlling parameters. One of his goals is to stimulate a large reduction in steel consumption to mitigate the carbon dioxide problem over a time-scale defined by the 2015 Paris accord. He is the fellow of the Royal Society; the Royal Academy of Engineering; the Institute of Materials and American Welding Society. Also Prof. Harry is the foreign fellow: of the Indian National Academy of Engineering as well as Indian National Science Academy. He is honorary fellow of the Japan Institute of Iron and Steel; of the Chinese Society for Metals; of the Indian Institute of Metals; of the Societe Francaise de Metallurgie et de Materiaux; and of The Welding Institute (TWI).
