About ICLESD 2026
2026 International Conference on Low-Carbon Economy and Sustainable Development (ICLESD 2026) will be held from October 30 to November 1, 2026.
To foster a truly global exchange of ideas, this year's conference will adopt a dual-venue format: the main domestic sessions will take place in Guangzhou, China, while a special international branch will be hosted by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in Johor Bahru, Malaysia (online). This premier event aims to bring together global stakeholders—researchers, policymakers, industry leaders, and innovators—to deepen the dialogue on carbon neutrality transformation and consolidate practical outcomes in global sustainable development.
As a comprehensive platform for cross-disciplinary collaboration, ICLESD 2026 is dedicated to addressing the world's most pressing environmental challenges. The conference will feature high-level keynote speeches, rigorous technical sessions, interactive panel discussions, and academic poster presentations. We will focus on the latest advancements in low-carbon technologies, energy transition, sustainable governance, and smart urban systems. By bridging the gap between theoretical research and practical application, the event endeavors to drive the global transition towards a greener, circular economy. We highly encourage submissions that showcase innovative methodologies, empirical studies, and transformative policy frameworks.

Prof Dato’ Ir. Dr. Abdul Wahab Mohammad graduated with his PhD in Chemical Engineering from University of Wales Swansea, United Kingdom in 1998. Currently, Prof Abdul Wahab is a Dean of the College of Engineering, University of Sharjah, UAE (Secondment from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, UKM). He is a former Deputy Vice Chancellor of Research and Innovation at UKM, from 2019 to 2022.
Prof Abdul Wahab is a Fellow of Institution of Chemical Engineers UK and Malaysia Academy of Sciences. He also holds the position of Chief Co-Editor for Journal of Water Process Engineering (Elsevier). Prof Abdul Wahab is recognized with over 33 awards and honors (Top 2% Scientist, Prince Sultan International Prize for Water, Top Research Scientist Malaysia, Malaysia's Research Star Award etc.). He is awarded with International/National/Industry grant worth more than RM 25 million.
His main research interest is on the development and application of membrane technology (UF, NF, RO, FO) for various applications in desalination and water/wastewater treatment. Prof Abdul Wahab has published over 400 research articles and intellectual properties.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Liza Binti Md Salleh is an Associate Professor in the Department of Bioprocess Engineering and Polymer Engineering at the Faculty of Chemical and Energy Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Malaysia. She received her Ph.D. in Food Engineering from Universiti Putra Malaysia and holds a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering and a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering (Bioprocess) from UTM. Her research expertise encompasses supercritical fluid technology, bioseparation, food processing and drying technologies, and the extraction and characterization of bioactive compounds from natural plant materials.
Her research focuses on the application of supercritical carbon dioxide (SC-CO₂) extraction for recovering valuable bioactive compounds, essential oils, and functional ingredients from plant sources. She has also contributed to research on natural product formulation, encapsulation technologies, and the development of bio-based products for food, health, and personal care applications. In addition to her academic career, she serves as a director of HA Southern Global Sdn. Bhd., a UTM spin-off company, reflecting her involvement in translating research outcomes into practical applications. Her achievements include international and national invention awards, including recognition at the Seoul International Invention Fair and the Malaysia Technology Expo. Through her research, innovation, and industry engagement, she contributes to the advancement of sustainable extraction technologies and the commercialization of plant-derived bioactive products.

Publication
All submissions will undergo a rigorous peer-review process conducted by two or three experts appointed by the organizing committee. Accepted and registered papers will be officially published in E3S Web of Conferences (ISSN: 2267-1242). The published proceedings will then be submitted to Scopus, Google Scholar, and IET Inspec for indexing.

Paper Submission Guidelines:
- The paper should have academic or practical value, and must not have been published in academic journals or conferences globally.
- Authors publishing the paper must submit the full text for peer review. Authors wishing only to present without publication need only submit the title and abstract.
- Authors must check for plagiarism (via CrossCheck, iThenticate, etc.) at their own expense prior to submission. Rejections due to high repetition rates are the author's responsibility.
- The full paper should not be less than 4 pages.
